6:15 PM - 7:30 PMSanctuary* and LivestreamedIs Zionism Relevant Today?
The Beth Am Jewish and Israel Advocacy Committee (JIAC) is thrilled to announce that Israeli author David Hazony will be speaking about “Is Zionism Relevant Today?**” This topic is both timely and highly relevant in light of Israel’s recent political contentiousness and its war with Hamas. These difficulties sometime overshadow the miracle of the State and its accomplishments against all odds.
Mr. Hazony is American born but now lives in Jerusalem where he has written and published widely. He is editor of the new book Jewish Priorities: Sixty-Five Proposals for the Future of Our People which brings together writers from across the Jewish world. He has authored, edited, and translated many books and is a winner of the National Jewish Book Award. He is the founding editor of The Tower.org; is the former editor of Azure, Israel’s leading journal of public affairs; and his essays have appeared in publications such as Commentary magazine, The New Republic, Policy Review and many others. Mr. Hazony also served as Executive Director of the Israel Innovation Fund, and is one of the featured speakers at the Z3 conference at the Oshman Family JCC on Sunday, November 5.
Following the Erev Shabbat service, Mr. Hazony will be available to discuss any follow-up questions in the Sanctuary Foyer.
*This service will be live video streamed. By entering the Sanctuary you give Beth Am permission to record you.
