Karola Ruth Westheimer, better known by millions of devoted fans as Dr. Ruth, died in July of this year at age 96. This fast-paced documentary chronicles her incredible life, that of a child Holocaust survivor who became America’s most trusted and popular voice on the topic of sex. Diminutive, witty and out-spoken, she revisits her painful past and her stellar career. The film’s title derives from the name of Westheimer’s syndicated 1987 late-night television series Ask Dr. Ruth.
