Participate in Beth Am's November Mitzvah Day
Sunday, November 23, 2025 • 3 Kislev 5786
10:00 AM - 12:00 PMSocial Hall & PatioThis December, a group of Beth Am members, along with Cantor Shpall and Rabbi Nambi, will celebrate Chanukah in Uganda. During the trip, participants will enjoy a fun safari and visit various Jewish communities and schools. Travelers will celebrate Chanukah and Shabbat with the Abayudaya Jews of Uganda, share stories from Beth Am about our own experiences, and learn from the local communities.
Chanukah is a time to celebrate Jewish resilience and connection, to share our light, and give gifts both to our friends and to those in need. Beth Am will be delivering much-needed school supplies, Judaica items, and other essential goods to Jewish schools and communities in Uganda.
Please join fellow Beth Am volunteers to help us collect and pack these supplies, as well as special gifts for our friends in Uganda.
Here's how you can participate:
- DONATE ITEMS: You can contribute by purchasing any of a number of needed items. Download the list (pdf) here. There will be a collection bin near the administration office starting Sunday, November 16.
- JOIN TO HELP PACK: Join in person on Sunday, November 23 to participate in learning, collecting, and packing gift bags, writing notes, and discovering more about our trip to Uganda and the Jewish communities and schools we will be visiting.
Please register below to let us know how you would like to participate.
For more information, contact Rabbi Shoshana Nambi at rabbi_nambi@betham.org.
Please note that this will be the second of four Mitzvah Days to be held in the coming year. Stay tuned for future Mitzvah Day information.
