
Shabbat Dinner to Support Ukraine

7:30 PM - 8:30 PMSocial HallAfter our Friday evening Shabbat service with guest speaker Rabbi Sanford Akselrad, our 2025 Akselrad* Scholar-in-Residence, come dine at a delicious community dinner prepared by the Poltava/Odesa Committee. Come together as a community supporting our friends in Ukraine while supporting each other during these challenging times. Dine on salmon with mango salsa, kugel, Fred’s challah, salad, veggies, wine, and an assortment of desserts made by the gourmet chefs of the Poltava/Odesa Committee. Rabbi Akselrad will engage in a dialogue with dinner participants.
Cost is $40 per person. All proceeds from the dinners will support our sister congregations in Ukraine, Congregation Beth Am of Poltava and Shirat Ha-Yam of Odesa. *This weekend holds special significance as we gather to honor our esteemed Rabbi Emeritus Rabbi Sidney Akselrad (z"l) and celebrate the enduring legacy he and his family have left within our community.
The Rabbi Akselrad Lectureship Fund, created in memory of Beth Am’s beloved Rabbi Emeritus Sidney Akselrad (z”l), is dedicated to providing speakers and programs related to social justice, ethics and/or human relations.
