12:00 PM - 1:30 PMZoom VideoconferenceThis Month's Topic: Why Can't They Be More Like Us?
In this session we will explore how our human tendency to seek connection on the basis of commonality helps or hinders understanding of others who are not like us. To what extent are we looking in a mirror rather than through a window? What does Judaism have to say about similarity and difference? All are welcome to join for a discussion of why the way we are wired impacts how we see others as individuals, as members of different communities or cultures, and as potential friends or foes.
Join in this lunchtime series that explores topics at the intersection of philosophy, Jewish thought and contemporary issues. This is an interactive lunchtime discussion. All are welcome. For more information, please contact Shelley.
