Erev Shabbat Service: High School Shabbat -- Honoring our Graduating Seniors
Friday, May 12, 2023 • 21 Iyar 5783
6:15 PM - 8:30 PMSanctuary and Livestream; Celebratory Oneg to FollowBeth Am is delighted to welcome ALL of our teens and their families to join us for this festive Shabbat as we celebrate the end of the year and honor our graduating seniors. This joyous Erev Shabbat evening will feature speakers from our graduating class.
At 6:15 PM, our Erev Shabbat service will begin in the Sanctuary. During the service, Beth Am clergy will call our 12th Graders up to the bima to offer a special blessing, and the 12th Graders will be presented with a gift on behalf of Beth Am. We hope that the Beth Am Teen Community, along with the entire congregation, will join us in honoring these students and celebrating this "moving up" moment for all of our teens. The service will be followed by a celebratory oneg.
During the Erev Shabbat service, our Zimriyah Jr. Choir will be singing.
Planning to attend the service virtually?
If you attend virtually, please join at betham.org/streaming or on our YouTube channel or on the Beth Am Facebook page, starting at 6:15 PM. If you miss the 6:15 PM livestream (or a later time works better for you), a simulated broadcast of the service will repeat at 8:00 PM on betham.org/streaming. You may follow along in our texts for the Erev (evening) Shabbat service using the online version of the Mishkan T'filah: A Reform Siddur.
To enhance your enjoyment of Shabbat, please visit betham.org/shabbatcorner (including "Social Stories" in the Resource Box to prepare children ahead of time for what to expect during the Shabbat service).
