
A Teshuvah Conversation

1:00 PM - 2:30 PMBeit KehillahBryan Stevenson, author of Just Mercy, wrote, “Each of us is more than the worst thing we’ve ever done.” That said, how do we reconcile the pain that is caused by another (or by our own selves) with the good that is also present? What does teshuvah — repentance and repair — look like, for us and for others? What role does restorative justice play? Who determines and how do we judge the work that is done by individuals to “return,” shuva? Is it even possible?
Together with Rabbi Arthur Nemitoff, we will talk about these difficult questions. Rabbi Nemitoff will use Peter Yarrow’s story, as well as his own experiences and private conversations with Peter, as a starting point for our conversation.
