Vegan Challenge Discussion, With Rabbi Akiva Gersh (The Vegan Rabbi)

Sunday, September 28, 2025 6 Tishrei 5786

11:00 AM - 12:30 PMBeit Kehillah

Come to learn, share, and get inspired by a lecture and discussion with Rabbi Akiva Gersh (known as the "Vegan Rabbi") who will discuss “Adam and Eve were Vegan: How Judaism Supports Going Vegan in our World Today."

In this lecture, Rabbi Gersh will guide us through numerous traditional and modern Jewish teachings, ranging from the Hebrew Bible to the Talmud to Kabbalah, that promote compassion for animals and support food choices that reflect other Jewish values such as environmental stewardship and human health. He will share how what we eat is deeply related to the Jewish teaching of tikkun olam — fixing the world. Everyone is welcome to participate!
