3:00 PM - 4:00 PMZoomGuided Phone Bank for Beginners
Voters of color in North Carolina face dramatic barriers to the polls. Join the Workers Circle as we call Black voters in North Carolina to learn which issues are most important to them, and their families, help them make a voting plan, and know the Voter ID they need to cast their ballot.
We work in partnership with the Center for Common Ground and Team Unity North Carolina, a grassroots organization that is educating and mobilizing Black voters in North Carolina.
Phone bank fun facts:
- Turnout for voters who spoke with call volunteers increased 17.3% over uncontacted voters.
- Turnout for voters who received a voicemail from call volunteers increased 5.9% over uncontacted voters.
- These numbers make a huge difference in elections where the margin of victory is small.
Why make calls to Southerners, especially with Reclaim Our Vote?
- No need to know the issues or candidates — you are pro voting, not any issues or candidates.
- You are giving helpful information to registered voters — when, where and how to vote — no persuasion except their vote really matters.
- You can leave useful messages — so even if you didn't speak to a live person, your call has value.
- Southerners tend to be extremely polite on the phone — even people who decline your call often end with "have a good day."
- ROV targets "low propensity" voters who haven't been deluged with calls — and can make a huge impact through their votes.
Please register to participate in this opportunity to make an impact!
