The Santa Clara County Public Health Department recommends that members of the the public wear a reusable, cloth face covering when going out for essential activities. These are not medical masks, but coverings made of breathable material that cover the nose and mouth. Check out the Center for Disease Control advice about face coverings, including designs for coverings that are sewn and not sewn. HappyDIYhome.com is also another helpful resrouce for advice on how to make face masks.
- Are you looking for a way to help with the local response to the coronavirus crisis? Want to do something in the safety of your home? Can you sew? If so, you can help by making cloth face coverings.
 - Are you interested in making face coverings but need help getting started? Don't have materials? Don't know what to do with the finished face coverings? We can help. A Beth Am congregant who teaches sewing has offered to teach you via Zoom. She has one sewing machine to give away if you are willing to make face coverings for our congregants. Interested? Email facecoverings@betham.org.
