After a long, pandemic-enforced wait, the Board of Directors of Congregation Beth Am and our Rabbinic Transition Committee are thrilled to invite you to a weekend of celebration, worship and community. We will come together for the joyful installation of Jeremy S. Morrison as Beth Am’s Senior Rabbi.

Erev Shabbat Senior Rabbi Installation Service
Friday, November 12: 6:15-7:45 PM, Sanctuary* or betham.org/streaming
During a festive Friday night Shabbat Service, led by our clergy and long-time colleagues of Rabbi Morrison (our honored guests for the weekend), our Congregation will officially install Rabbi Morrison as our Senior Rabbi. If you would like to attend in person, please register so we will have enough seating for everyone.
Shabbat Morning Torah Study
Saturday, November 13: 9:00-10:15 AM, Beit Kehillah*, betham.org/streaming or Zoom
Please join us in person, or online for a vibrant hour of Torah Study led by two of our guests, Rabbis Bernard H. Mehlman and Bethie Miller. Afterwards, we will enjoy a festive Kiddush brunch on the Beit Kehillah Patio.
Senior Rabbi Installation Reception and Havdalah
Saturday, November 13: 4-5:30 PM, Social Hall Patio*
Join in the celebration of Rabbi Jeremy Morrison as Beth Am Senior Rabbi! Come kindle the lights of Havdalah on Saturday evening as we celebrate together in joy and strength. We’ll enjoy cocktails and appetizers (sponsored by the Liebhaber Fund) and conclude with Havdalah to mark the end of Shabbat.
Youth Education Celebration
Sunday, November 14: 10:15 AM for Parents on the Social Hall Patio*; 11 AM All School T’filah in the Sanctuary*
Join with the Youth Ed community to celebrate the installation of Senior Rabbi Jeremy Morrison. We’ll meet for bagels and coffee on the Social Hall Patio. Then, the Youth Ed community will gather for a T’filah session at 11:00 AM including some special elements to mark this important occasion in the life of our congregation.
*Vaccinations are required (please bring proof each time) for all those eligible, and masks are required (for everyone over 2) indoors and outdoors.

Tricks of the Trope, Taught by Cantor Jaime Shpall
Tuesday, Oct 21st 7:00p to 8:00pThe melodies we use for chanting our sacred texts is known as Trope or Cantillation. Trope are the little markings found above and below the biblical Hebrew text that readers use to chant the text properly. You can also learn to chant Torah like a pro!
