The nominating committee would like to thank everyone who filled out an application for themselves or on behalf of another congregant. Similar to previous years, we received a great deal of qualified recommendations — for just two seats. Once again, our committee has been presented key criteria (professional, skills, traits) by our professional staff and lay leadership which will help guide our selection process.

Selecting and Electing New Board Members

Each year, the Congregation Beth Am Nominating Committee selects a number of outstanding individuals to be approved at the annual congregational meeting to fill open elected Director seats on the Board.

This year, we have two open seats for terms starting June 2024 and we are looking for a diverse group of committed individuals who are willing to share their time and talent to help lead our congregation. There are 16 elected seats. Director terms are three years, and members can serve up to two terms. You can learn about the role of the Board of Directors as well as current board members

The following are key criteria for this year's nominees:

  • Professional (legal, financial acumen, communications/marketing, human resource, educator, executive)
  • Skills (change management, fundraising, coaching, governance, regional/national Jewish network)
  • Traits (time to volunteer/”doer”, thoughtful, healer, board gender balance, all types of diversity, parents of school age kids, prayer/spirituality).

In order to make the process even more inclusive and harness the broad expertise of our congregation, we encourage Beth Am members to recommend fellow congregants or themselves to be considered by the Nominating Committee.

To be eligible, a candidate must be a member in good standing. A candidate may not be a member of the Nominating Committee or a member of the same household of a member of the Committee. For more information regarding the Board Nomination process, please refer to Beth Am’s By-Laws.

Please use the brief form to make your recommendations or apply for yourself. (The submission deadline has now passed.)

And stay tuned for the members of the Board Nominating Committee.

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to help shape the future of Beth Am by recommending candidates you believe will be great leaders. Thanks in advance for your consideration and participation.
