“I wanted to be wilder,” declared the man born Jerome Silverman who later became the endearing comic genius we all know as Gene Wilder.
In this gem of a documentary, much of it narrated by Gene himself, you’ll enjoy stories of his upbringing, his family, his successes, his collaborators and his loves. Beautifully directed, the film includes tender stories told by Mel Brooks, Rain Pryor (Richard Pryor's daughter) and Gene’s last wife Karen. A must see for all fans of this delightfully wild mensch!
If you would like to receive a reminder prior to each of our films, please email Lauren to be added to the list.
The Shabbat Jewish Film Series is made possible by the Aptekar Family Endowment Fund for Film.
