Israel Discussion Gathering: With Guest Speakers Or and Dafna Sella
Friday, December 1, 2023 • 18 Kislev 5784
5:15 PM - 6:30 PMSocial HallPrior to our Erev Shabbat service, come hear from guest speakers Or and Dafna Sella as they courageously advocate for the safe return of their beloved family members, together with the hostages still held in Gaza. They will discuss why this is a humanitarian crisis that should spur each and every one of us to action.
The Sellas had nine relatives held in Gaza. On November 25, six of their relatives returned home including: three children aged 3, 8 and 12, the children’s mothers, and the Sella’s cousin Shoshan, the founder of Fair Planet, an NGO that helps farmers in Africa improve their crop yields. They remain focused on bringing home ALL remaining hostages including their cousin Tal, father of 2 of the recently released. Their cousins Judith and Natalie Ranaan were the first hostages released by Hamas.
Tragically, three members of their family were killed on October 7, as was the caregiver of one of their relatives.
Why Now:
We are heartened by the news that a recent negotiation has led to the release of some hostages, but we must continue to advocate for the safe return of all hostages. Your support and continued efforts to keep this issue as a top humanitarian priority is needed now more than ever. We will not rest until all 230+ hostages are home.
Consider arriving at 5:00 PM for our December 1 First Friday Pre-Neg, Sponsored by the Liebhaber Fund. Enjoy a little nosh and a moment to reconnect with friends before the Israel Discussion.
