LGBTQ Inclusion @ Beth Am & Beyond
Sunday, February 27, 2022 • 26 Adar I 5782
3:30 PM - 5:00 PMZoomJoin us as we open an important conversation about LGBTQ equality and inclusion in our community. We've built a good foundation for LGBTQ inclusion at Beth Am — but we can definitely learn more and do better! As the LGBTQ world changes and grows, our awareness and support must grow alongside it. This first learning opportunity can be attended as a stand-alone event or as the first of a two-part workshop, with the next event (in April) building on this one.
This first workshop will focus on awareness and understanding of identities across the LGBTQ continuum, as well as how LGBTQ equality intersects with Jewish values.
The second workshop will provide an opportunity for us to think together about specific ways that we can be a more welcoming place and act as good allies for transgender, nonbinary, gender-expansive, lesbian, gay, bisexual and other queer folks, both at Beth Am and beyond.
Not quite sure what all those words exactly mean? Want to understand better what distinguishes one identity from another? Want to make all people feel welcome at Beth Am? Bring your questions and let's learn together.
Public registration is now closed. If you are a member, you can register by logging into your ShulCloud account and completing the form below.
Sponsored by the INCLUDE Beth Am team in conjunction with Keshet, an organization dedicated to promoting LGBTQ equality in the Jewish community.
This program is part of Beth Am's Focus on Inclusion Month in February.
