Wednesday, May 8, 2024 • 30 Nisan 5784
7:30 PM - 9:15 PMZoom (RSVP for access details)ONLINE ONLY With Lisa Rauchwerger
Iyar is a month between. Passover and Shavuot, Exodus and revelation, Slavery and covenant — receiving the Torah on Mount Sinai. Iyar is a month of counting: Counting the Omer from Pesach (middle of Nisan) through Iyar to the beginning of Sivan.
The 5th of Iyar is Yom Ha-atzma’ut, Israel’s Independence Day (today!) The 18th of Iyar is Lag Ba’Omer, a holiday of picnics and celebrating outsmarting the Romans, of archery and bonfires.
We will learn a little about the holidays of Iyar, and delve into the counting of the Omer, why we count and some mystical ways to make the counting a spiritual practice.
Please register using this form or email Lisa (if you don't have login access) to receive the access information.
Rosh Chodesh is a program of Beth Am Women.
