Beth Am Women Rosh Chodesh: Cheshvan
Wednesday, October 22, 2025 • 30 Tishrei 5786
7:30 PM - 9:15 PMConference RoomA Time to Re-Set: Finding Calm, Solace and Comfort in the Midst of Darkness
With Lisa Rauchwerger
Come join us as we welcome in the Hebrew month of Cheshvan (sometimes called "Mar-Cheshvan" — bitter Cheshvan — because there are no holidays happening in the month except for Rosh Chodesh. After the craziness of the Yamim Nora'im, the High Holy Days and Sukkot, it is fitting that we have a month of quiet, darkness and a time to reset, refocus, and prepare for the coming winter months. We now give ourselves the time to recuperate, rejuvenate, and recommit to move into the coming new year with more peace, energy, and purpose. Where do you find peace, meaning, or solace? What brings you calm, joy, or comfort? What do you do to reset, recharge, or find sparks of light in the darkness?
We will consider what our tradition has to say about darkness and light, and share our experiences of how we find that light in our own lives.
Meeting will be in person, but please register using the form below to participate. Snacks are welcome and appreciated.
Rosh Chodesh is a program of Beth Am Women. All women-identifying are welcome.
